SCHOOL INDUCTION PROGRAM- REPORT


INTRODUCTION
our B.Ed curriculum includes 5 days school induction program the main objective of this program is to attain ideas and details about a school and its activities. My school induction program started on 13/8/2019 and ended on 19/8/2019 selected Concordia Lutheran High Secondary School, Peroorkada for this program.Five students of GCTE, Trivandrum selected the same school but this program. Among the first three of the their Malayalam department and two
of us  from physical science department.

Objectives

The main objectives of school induction is to provide the student teacher

1.    An opportunity to primarily experience the functioning of school
2.    To acquaint with the school environment and their day today functioning.
3.    To observe the lessons of senior teachers  individually or in a small groups
4.    To meet the students informally to learn their background and interest in learning.
5.    To see the learning facilities in the school.
6.    To observe the social climate of the school
7.    To engage in three lessons individually or in shared practice
8.     To maintain a detailed diary as record of visit.

About the school


Concordia Lutheran High Secondary School Peroorkada located in the Thiruvananthapuram district has a history of more than 85 years school was started in 1931 by Rev.Fr.Fritz as an unaided English medium school and later recognized by the State Government of Kerala as an aided minority educational institution. The school was upgraded to higher secondary in 1991 with Humanities and in 1998 Science and Commerce stream started to function in standards plus one and plus two. Outstanding academic record constantly maintained by the school under the SSLC board and its achievements in the co curricular activities ever since its Inception has made it on of the most reputed school in the state.
 The vision of the school is equipping students for the reality of tomorrow the school envisions a Holistic education installing in the students a patient to seek the wisdom imbibe virtues, with a clear focus on excellence has to become catalyst in the globally Transformer the knowledge society.







 Rules  and general discipline

·       Pupils must be in their classroom by the first bell at 8:50 a.m. (HSS), 9:20 a.m.(HS)
·       Reaching the school the student should to form a line and proceed to their respective classroom in Silence
·       Utilize the morning time for silent study till the bell goes for prayer/ assembly.
·       At the second bell at 8:55 a.m. all student should stand up for prayer. On the days when there is a school assembly, all should march to the place assigned to their respective classes on the Assembly ground/ hall.
·       At the third Bell, the prayer starts
·       At the end of the day 4:25 p.m. (HSS) 3:30 p.m. (HS) before the student disperse there will be a thanksgiving prayer played by one of the senior class students.
·       Stand still during player and national anthems wherever you are
·       So respected to your principal, teacher’s, non teaching staff and elders by greeting them.
·       Respect each other and always lend a helping hand,.

Infrastructure
The school is situated in an area 3 acre land. The high school section consists of three buildings in which 11 class rooms are there. The high secondary section consists of two buildings in which year 10 class rooms are there. The School has a large playground. There are separated computer labs for schools action and High Secondary section. Two computer labs are for high school section which consists of 13 computers and Higher Secondary School has a single computer lab which consists of 35 computers.  Every classroom has internet facilities as well as each classroom is a smart classroom. The school is situated in a calm and quiet environment. Drinking water facility is available for every student in the school. The School depends well and pipeline as water resources.  There are Gardens and Butterfly Park in the school compound. The school also has library and reading room facility. The school got its new vehicle school bus from the MP fund of 2018-2019 academic years. For the mid day meal preparation a large kitchen is situated along with the school building.

 Clubs and activities
1.    Science club
Science club conducts activities like a field trip plastic free campus science exhibition food fest gardening of medical medicinal plants in each class students are divided into four groups and the name of their groups are the name of some famous scientist like Faraday Nakshatra in each classroom use programs as well as debates are organised between these four groups this is mentioned by the science Club member of that particular class

2.     Malayalam club
Malayalam club conducts Sahitya Samaj programs on every Tuesday the club also celebrates important day like reading day club conducts activities like quiz competitions speaking competition extra club contacts a program called malayalathilakkam to develop interest for children towards Malayalam.

3.    English club
English club contacts quiz programs short story competitions skit related to English language film festival organised by English club was a attractive program conducted by the school .

4.    social science club
Social science club organize kids programs in every month of the academic year with the help of ICT club organisesnovel activities flight introduction to different countries and continents to the students exhibition participation of posters and chart extra.

5.    Arts club
The students who are gifted with the given coaching in this areas of interest the students who are gifted with the musical talents can be member of the Coral society they are given special coaching in western and Karnatak music besides the regular classes in music under expert teachers.
6.    Nature club
The main objective of this club is to help the peoples to live in harmony with nature it also helps to create Indain and Awareness of the problem related to ecosystem developing in the school relationship helping the the students to become self reliant and equipping them to take after discussions in a crisis are same of the features of this club.


7.    Souhrida Club
we live in a world where there are very rich and Ateli poor people and the poor are often collected reopen forget our duty towards the poor and connected this club is trying to Akele the mind of young ones for our responsibilities towards the neglected power and their love for reserving them their needs.

8.    co curricular activities
To develop varied interest and different talents of the people the school provides ample opportunity through several co-curricular activities students are given training in music painting and other art forms besides formal coaching in music and art they are given opportunities to get involved in artistic cultural and social activities through association and clubs participation in one of the co-curricular activity is compulsory in the the continuous and comprehensive evaluation of students the performance of the owner to co-curricular activity will be grounded and the marks will be ended in the certificate.

9.    Literary Association
One of the most important forms of developing creative talents in the literary artistic and cultural field is the weekly meeting of literary Association.

10.   Quiz forum
This is a special form which prepare students for various quiz competition students are enrolled in it after a preliminary test.



11.   Manuscript magazines
Every division of a class is to produce during the year handwritten class magazine in which articles in various languages drawings cartoons paintings of the students are published under the guidance of a class teacher the selections from this may appear in the school annual magazine please provide a forum for the building poets and writers and artist for developing their creative talents.

12.     Study tour and field trips
Educational tools and excursions two places of historical or natural importance are conducted for seniors and juniors separately during the academic year.

13.       Parent-Teacher and well wishers Association
The parent a teacher and a well wishers Association of the school is constituted of the PO parents of the students of CONCORDIA school the teachers and steps of the school and the well wishers whose names are registered in the well wishers tester of the school the name of the association is to help the management in smooth and efficient the running of the school and in Planning and executing the developmental and other innovative activities of the school so that it may be best achieve the coffee ideas of education at the secondary level a separate mother PTA will also be formed the parents Shall pay a membership fee.

School provides transportation facilities to students the parents who want to send their children to school by school bus should apply for it to the headmaster at the beginning of academic year



v science Labs
The School has five well furnished science Laboratories physics chemistry botany zoology and geography all the lives we are build with step safely measures and they are student friendly each love is fully equipped with Apparatus as per the syllabus requirements and can accommodate 60 students at a time.


v Computer Labs
The School has three computer labs of which two of labs are in High School section and one belongs to higher secondary section. High School computer lab consists of eight desktops 25 laptops and High Secondary section consists of 15 Desktops and 20 laptops all the systems are network and have access to internet.
 v Audio visual rooms
The School has a well equipped audio-visual room with computers LCD projector and audio systems.

v counselling centre
the counselling Centre helps the children in the thoda stick development of their personality by embarking light values and attitude towards oneself and to the society at large it also helps the students who are disturbed psychologically socially and mentally for situation only the centre provides systematic ways of helping the students learn only adjustments the counselling Centre office remedial systems for students whose inadequate motivational factors have kept them from achieving their potential the parents can avail the services of counselling centre

          There is a well functioned library in the school children are given the opportunity to read books and magazine from library children are also given the opportunity to take books to their houses for a period of one week there are thousands of books in the library books are available on English in the and malayalam languages information providing books supplementary reading books for all subject novels poems short stories are available in the library various news papers of English and Malayalam language children's magazines and management magazines are available in the school library.

          The normal administrative work and protein office translations like issue of certificates financial transaction under maintenance office records exam will be done in the school office attached to the principles of Rome the school Office is open to the public for 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with HSS 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. for HS

 Conclusion

Our five day School induction program started on 13/8/2019 and ended on 19/8/2019. I had a good experience from lutheran High Secondary School. Students were very active and interested in the extracurricular activities. When I interacted with the students teachers as well as non teaching staff I get a clear idea about social climate of the school, working and procedures of the school. This is five days school induction program increase my attitude towards teaching learning process.
