After the teacher came to the class, she checked the previous knowledge of the students i e, the features of the magnet.
The previous knowledge of students consist of following topics such as
1.Magnetism
2.Type of magnets
3.Properties of a magnet.
4.Different shapes of magnet
5.Earth as a magnet.
She asked questions about types of magnet, properties of magnet, different shapes of magnet, Earth as a magnet, Geographical North Pole, Geographical South Pole.
Teacher also asked questions about direction of magnetic field lines and allmost all Children
gave satisfactory answer to all her questions.
When teacher checked previous knowledge of student about the topic ' Earth as a magnet' , she draw the daigramatic representation of earth as a magnet and marked earth's magnetic south , earth's magnetic north , geographic north pole and geographic south pole and explained it again.
Then teacher asked students to find a stratergy to find north and south pole of a bar magnet.
Then a video showsed by teacher which demonstrated a compass placed near a current carring conductor. The compass deflects to the East as the current moves from North to South. As compass moves from the South to the North, compass deflects to the West.The teacher give enough pauses to video in certain area and showed it again.
Then group activity is given to the children. They were told to write down what they saw in the video.
One person from each group is allowed to read what they had discussed in their group.
These points are noted down by every other children of the class.Teacher added some points which are not discussed in any of the groups.
Then teacher provided a home assignments to the students
Merits of the class
• Examines children's Privious Knowledge by asking what they have learned in the previous classes.
• All children responded almost correct answer to the questions
• All children were found active during the entire classtime.
They pay attention to the teacher
Class management of teacher was excellent
Less time is used by teacher to create groups
• children were able to understand things better becouse of displayed video.
• By dividing the children into groups, all the children in certain groups were able to participate in the learning activities
• Due to discussion after group activuty each group gets all its points.
Demerits
• After the group discussion, the points which the children read were not written on the board.
Participation of all children in the group was not visible in some groups
Slow learners does not get any help from teacher.
Many children merely noted down subtitles that had shown in the video without understanding the concept.
