Interesting

Class was interesting since teacher encouraged students to participate in class and teacher also provided interesting historical stories.

Motivating

Class provides motivation to students since they all are effectively engaged in class.

Linking with previous knowledge

Previous knowledge of students regarding types of energy is checked.

Using ICT/Aids/Materials

Usage of ICT Resources was excellent. In order to transact heating effect of current videos, animations are used.

Questioning

Good eliciting questions were asked by the teacher and teacher checked whether each learning objectives was achieved or not.

Teacher Scaffolding

Teacher provided scaffolding at necessary places.

Student Participation

All students were actively participated in the class and all the students answered to the eliciting questions in a good manner. Some students asked doubts regarding content at the end of the class.

Facilitating students activity

Teacher collected responses from students but other activities including students were not there.

Construction of

knowledge/concepts/ideas

Construction of concepts is done in a good manner. But in order to construct the concept of relation between time and heating effect of current, an experiment demonstrating measurement of time must be used.

Conclusion and explanation

Teacher consolidated the class in a bad manner. He failed to revisit content learned in classroom.

Teacher constantly evaluated whether each student has attained learning outcome or not

Questions were provided at the end of the class. The follow up activities given was connected to the next topic. Both simple and complex questions are included in home assignment.

Teacher Competencies:

 

Knowledge of subject matter

Teacher had very good subject knowledge. Teacher but accidently provided a incorrect fact that ironing of woolen clothes required more heat energy but ironing of woolen clothes actually require less heat energy.

Communication skills

Teacher communicated to the students in a god manner. Teacher could able to collect good real life examples from students

Very Good, clear and loud voice

Interpersonal relationships

A connection between students is established in a speedy manner.

Democratic atmosphere

There was a democratic atmosphere in classroom but the teacher failed to ask questions to everyone by mentioning their name. this resulted in uneven distribution of answering question.

Effective communication

Effective communication was there between teacher and all students. No students remained silent. Teacher’s sentence construction was also good

Time Management

Teacher completed the portion in allotted time and he managed time efficiently.

Remarks:

1.    Blackboard skill should be increased

2.    Teacher should include black board summary at the end of the classroom

3.    Teacher should not mention the name of topic which they going to study prior to the class.

4.    Selected video and images were apt for the content discussed.

5.    Teacher introduced gender related ideas to classroom which was really good.
